Founded in 2003 by the Swiss group Sorbes AG, the company owns two woodworking enterprises in western Ukraine: in Kostopol (Rivne region) and Nadvirna (Ivano-Frankivsk region).
Swisspan Limited is the flagship of Ukrainian woodworking and is the leading manufacturer of furniture boards in Ukraine. The company specializes in the creation of polished and laminated particle boards.under own brand “Swisspan by Sorbes”, which are used in the production of cabinet furniture, interior design, building structures and other areas.
The Swisspan Limited plant was built during the Soviet era. Due to modern technologies in the production of boards, a more careful approach is required to adhesive materials, which play a key role in connecting the components of furniture boards.
The Soviet technology for cooling the tar shop involved the use of running water from the nearest reservoir. In this regard, the pipes quickly became clogged with mud and other elements, which ultimately led to an increase in the temperature of the resin to critically high values.
Thus, the company made the decision to invest in cooling technology. After holding a tender among Ukrainian companies, our offer turned out to be the most suitable in terms of technical parameters and price.
To maintain the required temperature regime in the resin shop at 5°C, it was necessary to provide cooling for the resin pulping process. We have successfully implemented a project to cool the tar shop in Kostopol. The role of the chiller in this environment is critical, as it maintains the optimum temperature and controls thermal processes. To do this, we carried out calculations of refrigeration capacities and chose two chillers of the American brand Carrier,equipped with four Carlyle semi-hermetic screw compressors, providing cold power of 910 and 980 kW, respectively. These units operate using R-134a refrigerant.
Carrier, a world leader in advanced heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, has a wide range of chillers ranging from 5kW to 2500kW. A distinctive feature of the chillers of this brand is high energy efficiency, which provides significant energy savings. Balanced fans with polished blades help keep noise levels to a minimum, while built-in diagnostics allow troubleshooting without stopping equipment.
Given the experience of cooperation with us, Swisspan Limited contacted us for the second time for the plant in Nadvornaya. Considering all the parameters, we chose a chiller, the Italian brand Thermocold 378 kW with 6 scrollcompressors.
The Thermocold chiller offers the environmental benefits of optimizing energy consumption, efficiency at both full and part load (with SEERs up to 4.67 and SCOPs up to 3.43) and ease of control with the built-in I-Pro controller, which is fully compatible with the MULTI-MANAGER system to create modular combinations of up to 6 units, and facilitates maintenance due to full access to all components.
It is also worth noting that the supplied Carrier and Thermocold chillers for Swisspan Limited have been operating for more than 4 years, confirming their high reliability and durability..
The chillers have been thoroughly tested at our test station. It was carefully prepared before shipping: it was cleaned, all key parameters were checked, and the controller was fine-tuned to the desired temperatures.
In addition, we organized transport and the chiller was delivered to the client, securely fastened and packaged.
