This series features air cooled chillers operating on HFC R-407C refrigerant. This refrigerant has significant environmental benefits: it does not contain chlorine and does not deplete the ozone layer. Chillers of this series are equipped with heat exchangers for free cooling. They are used in air conditioning systems for residential and industrial buildings where cooling is required even during colder months, or when the ambient temperature is lower than the entering water temperature of the chiller. In “free cooling” mode, the liquid is cooled by the outside air. Thus, the compressor runs at less load or even shuts down completely. As a result, the required cooling capacity is achieved with practically zero energy consumption (100% free cooling corresponds to the energy efficiency index E.E.R. 25).
COMPOSITION OF A STANDARD UNIT
– Enclosure base made of galvanized steel sheet with thermosetting coating.
– Outside, the casing of the unit is sheathed with sheets of peraluman (an alloy of aluminum and magnesium); the frame is made of an aluminum profile.
– Semi-hermetic reciprocating compressors.
– Silencer in the discharge line.
– Heat exchanger-condenser and heat exchanger for free cooling made of copper pipes with aluminum fins, subcooling circuit.
– Three-way valves and corresponding taps in the water circuit for free cooling operation.
– Liquid receiver with valves to regulate the discharge pressure.
– Axial fans with 6-pole electric motor and aluminum impeller blades (die-cast), electric motor with protection class IP54.
– Thermally insulated evaporator with asymmetric refrigerant channels.
– Thermostatic valves. Filter driers. Sight glasses. Liquid line solenoid valves.
– The electrical equipment and control panel comply with the requirements of the EN 60204-1 / EC 204-1 standard.
– Microprocessor control system.
– The chiller is fully charged with refrigerant and frost-resistant oil.
