Chiller CARRIER 30XA0702 674 kW for "SVIT SOLOMI" (Agricultural organization)

Ukraine is known for its rich nature and fertile soil, creating ideal conditions for cultivating various types of mushrooms. Traditionally, Ukrainians gathered mushrooms in the forests, but with the development of mushroom cultivation technologies in homes and agricultural enterprises, it is becoming increasingly popular.

Modern technologies allow for the rapid and efficient cultivation of mushrooms. Computerized control of humidity, temperature, and lighting has become commonplace in modern mushroom farms. This enables high yields and control over growth conditions. The growing popularity of organic products and increased consumer awareness create excellent conditions for the development of mushroom cultivation in Ukraine. Modern farmers and entrepreneurs actively implement new technologies and improve cultivation methods, contributing to the development of this promising agricultural sector.

Therefore, there are several cooling methods for the mushroom industry:
1. Borehole: The principle of this cooling method is that the water temperature reaches 10-12 °C, and it passes through a heat exchanger from a borehole. However, it is important to understand that the drawbacks of this cooling method include water disposal issues and insufficient temperature for quality mushroom cultivation. Nevertheless, the borehole can serve as an additional cooling method for the mushroom mycelium.
2. Air conditioner installation: Depending on the scale of production, several air conditioners may be needed. However, it should be understood that an air conditioner cannot provide adequate climate control and inflow of fresh air. The air conditioning system only ensures partial climate conditions.
3. Refrigeration equipment – chiller: Manufacturers who value their clients or work with supermarkets, having contracts for year-round mushroom production, must operate 365 days a year. In this case, a chiller is indispensable. The chiller cools the compost, maintains the temperature, and creates shock temperatures. With suitable refrigeration equipment, mushrooms can be grown throughout the year. If absent, the cultivation process starts in August and finishes in May.

Considering all these conditions, the Ukrainian company “SVIT SOLOMI” decided to grow mushrooms in its greenhouse, and to maintain the necessary humidity level, they opted for the third and most efficient method. Our specialists came to their aid.

The company “SVIT SOLOMI” produces substrate mycelium (compost) of phase 2 for growing white and brown button mushrooms. The enterprise is built according to the project of the Dutch company Dalsem and is the most modern in Ukraine and one of the best in Europe. The project capacity is over 100,000 tons of phase 2 compost per year. The enterprise is equipped with the latest technological equipment from Dutch manufacturers Hoving Holland and Dalsem, has its own laboratory, allowing constant control of technological process parameters at each stage of the production cycle. The quality of raw materials, control of compost parameter indicators at various stages of the production process, and tracking of parameters of the shipped product are also monitored by our laboratory.
The enterprise is located on an area of 25 hectares in the town of Kryve Ozero in the Mykolaiv region. Its location (2 km from the Odesa highway) ensures convenient accessibility for mushroom growers from various regions of Ukraine.

Taking into account the client’s specificity, Evroprom specialists selected a CARRIER 30XA0702 chiller with a capacity of 674 kW. This refrigeration unit was chosen considering the enterprise’s capacity, the area of cultivation and adjacent premises, and the quantity of finished products for storage. Before shipment, the chiller underwent thorough checks and adjustments according to the customer’s preferences, and it was delivered and installed by our specialists.

The CARRIER 30XA0702 chiller is equipped with a shell-and-tube heat exchanger and two plate economizers, allowing for power regulation and thereby reducing electricity costs. This dual-circuit giant, with dimensions of 7.60 x 2.30 x 2.40 meters and a weight of over 6 tons, performs exceptionally well in its task thanks to two Carlyle screw compressors, and it does not overheat due to cooling from 12 fans.
